Interessi di ricerca
My research interests focus on atmospheric dynamics and mesoscale processes, with particular emphasis on WRF-based numerical modeling for operational applications and targeted research studies. My research includes high-resolution simulations and sensitivity experiments of extreme weather events such as highly localized convective phenomena, flash floods, windstorms (e.g., tornadoes, downbursts), and (tropical-like) cyclones. Special attention is devoted to the analysis of long-term datasets (reanalysis) to identify recurring (synoptic) patterns and potential indicators of extreme atmospheric conditions, as well as to air–sea interaction and the role of the ocean.
